About QuakeScout

What We Do

QuakeScout tracks earthquakes worldwide in real-time. We aggregate seismic data from authoritative scientific sources to provide accessible, up-to-date information about earthquake activity across the globe.

Our Mission

Earthquakes affect millions of people every year. Our mission is to make seismic data accessible and understandable — helping people stay informed about earthquake activity in their region and prepare for future events.

Data Sources

All earthquake data on QuakeScout comes from the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program, the world's leading authority on seismic monitoring. The USGS operates a global network of over 2,000 seismograph stations and publishes earthquake data in real-time.

Additional data sources include tectonic plate boundary datasets, historical earthquake records from peer-reviewed geological studies, and country-level risk assessments from the Global Earthquake Model Foundation (GEM).

For full details, see our Data Sources page.

Limitations

QuakeScout is an informational resource, not an emergency alert system. While we strive for accuracy and timeliness, there may be delays in data availability. Always follow official emergency guidance from local authorities during seismic events.
